Are you eligible to become a Company member?

While the AISD (Qld) supports the development of member companies and individuals to improve their professionalism and competitiveness it’s a firm belief of the management committee that membership alone, should benchmark a detailing company as a “Quality” firm with sound ethics and industry recognition of their ability.

In support of this stance, it is a requirement that all company or Sole Trader members must have a minimum of 12 months operating experience. Applicants with fewer than 12 months of trading history are welcome to join as associate members until such time as they have accumulated the prerequisite experience.

Applicants should note that it is also a requirement of the AISD that all modelling and detailing projects are completed using only licensed cad software. In light of this requirement, your application must include;

  • Proof of ownership for all CAD software in use or advertised as in use by the applicant.
  • The proof of ownership will also support the claim for the number of detailer employees at the company.

By signing the application, Sole Trader & Company membership applicants declare that their drawing office practices comply with the Australian Steel Detailers Handbook.

Company member applicants must have a Drawing Office based in the state of Queensland that complies with the Queensland State Government’s local Content definition in the Local Industry Policy.(LIP)

The key LIP criteria are:

  • Development of long-term, internationally competitive, local services industry in Queensland
  • Provide employment, training and skill development to its Queensland staff
  • Promotion of value-adding activities
  • Opportunities for participation by local industry
  • Support for other industry development activities, such as new investment, innovation and research and development.
